GOAL funds plea to aid flood victims

FLOODING has struck the Bihar region in eastern India hard in the past few weeks. Dozens of people have drowned and more than 100,000 hectares of farmland have been submerged.

GOAL funds plea to aid flood victims

Villages have been inundated forcing thousands of people to flee their homes.

These people are now forced to shelter in refugee camps until the monsoon season finishes and the waters subside. GOAL is aiding more than 15,000 of these vulnerable people by distributing emergency packs, which include clothes, jerrycans, plastic sheeting and cooking utensils.

It is up to voluntary organisations like GOAL to step in when needs are greatest. Of course, we cannot do this without the continuing support of the Irish people.

If you would like to take part in our next major fundraiser, GOAL Jersey Day, then please visit www.jerseyday.com or phone 01 2809779.
