Light response

ON Monday, September 8, at around 3.45pm, I got my first sighting of the new Garda Armed Response Unit in their brightly coloured Volvo on Limerick’s Dublin Road.

Light response

I was perturbed to see that the vehicle had its front foglights on, illegally, as the day was dry — overcast but not foggy.

So the Armed Response Unit has not been trained to drive properly. How confident can we be that they know how to use their weapons?
