McCain’s folly boosts Obama’s chances

WHILE your reporter Conor Ryan is surely right about the US Republican party’s attempt to paint their vice-presidential candidate as an “ordinary American” (September 4), your readers can rest assured voters will not be fooled.

Sarah Palin stands with those who believe we need more guns, not less, and that global warming is a myth. Senator McCain’s folly in choosing her will serve only to help boost the already bright electoral prospects of Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
