THE ability to understand and evaluate the rapidly changing world of biomedical sciences requires competence in the mathematical basis of the sciences, statistics and molecular biology.

The relatively low points requirements for science and technology courses in our-third level colleges reflect the low status and disrespect with which scientists are held in this society.

As a hospital-based chemical pathologist and physician, I am in pole position to experience and witness on a daily basis the complex skills and technical competence of medical scientists and biochemists.
