Latin mass revival is for good of the church

I am grateful to Pope Benedict XVI for affirming (contrary to a widespread misconception) that the traditional Latin mass was never abrogated.

Latin mass revival is for good of the church

It has been heartening to see that many dioceses all over the world are now making provision for the Latin mass in compliance with the Holy Father’s clearly stated wishes.

Lay and clerical groups who have accepted the challenge and are now working to restore the traditional liturgy and practice are to be greatly commended. It would be very heartening to see the fruits of their perseverance rewarded with success for the good of the church. Might I invite laypeople who would wish to take part in the “mystery of the liturgy,” as the Pope so eloquently described it, to write courteous letters to their bishops and to join local groups working to train altar servers and organise mass venues.
