Losing the price plot

HAVING had a nice break over the long weekend, I have to say I was astonished to find I had been charged €€7 for a glass of wine at lunch at a picturesque restaurant on the Dingle Peninsula.

The next day I was charged €€5.80 in Dingle town. In my hometown of Kanturk, one of the best establishments in town is charging €€4.50 for an excellent glass of wine.

Are we losing the run of ourselves altogether? Can restaurants not see the writing on the wall, and review their prices to reflect a more price-conscious customer?
