Final answer

SO French President Nicholas Sarkozy has come and gone from his whirlwind speed-dating of our Lisbon Treaty yes and no campaigners.

While I voted yes in the recent referendum, I stand firmly behind those who took the opposite view.

This is a democratic country and I would be horrified to think that the French president’s visit might result in a move to get us to vote again in the hope that we will see ‘sense’ next time.
