Nuclear power back in fashion worldwide

IN his recent comments on global energy, Energy Minister Eamon Ryan should have taken account of the fact that nuclear power is the only source of carbon–free electricity.

More and more governments worldwide are embracing nuclear power as fundamental to their strategies of national energy security and environmental responsibility.

The International Energy Agency recognises that nuclear power must play a central role in any clean energy revolution. Recently the same view has been articulated by the executive director of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
