Lord mayor’s rate for the job is disgusting

I WAS astounded to learn recently that the Lord Mayor of Cork gets more than €100,000 per annum.

It is disgusting that an honorary position can command this salary.

One person I heard favouring this suggested the position was only for a year. This is completely irrelevant. And the deal between the major parties to ‘rotate’ the job makes it even more disgusting .
