Irish MEPs should form party of their own
When the leaders of the EU’s three most powerful members — Germany, France and Britain — favour it, then all the smaller states should look out.
The fact that our political parties bring their domestic divisions into European politics is incredible. Our MEPs should form a single bloc to counteract the power of the Big Three which will be only too apparent if we approve the treaty.
Let’s have a new all-Ireland party in Europe specifically to protect our interests.
