Show some respect

THERE was a rather immature jibe by one of your reporters at the fact that the Pope had sent his blessing to the Irish people as he travelled through Irish space (April 22).

The Pope crossed through other national air spaces and sent his blessing also to those countries.

I believe none of these European nations responded to it as did your newspaper, but then I feel they are more mature in these things.

The next time you come to laud the initiatives of the elderly or their accomplishments, try to remember the thoughtfulness of this 81-year-old man.

Please do grow up.
