Toxic additive

LOOKING through the labels on various mineral and fizzy drinks on supermarket shelves, I was shocked to discover the large number that contain the toxic additive called Aspartame.

This has been banned in many countries as being carcinogenic and is in fact totally banned by the US Food and Drugs Administration.

It is seemingly used in other food products also as a sweetener. I wonder if our food authorities are aware of its presence so freely? This is a serious breach of food safety. Of course it is not the only questionable food that can be imported and sold in this country. Maybe the incoming Taoiseach might care to look at this important matter.
