IN 1904, Trinity College Dublin was the first institution of higher learning in these islands to open its doors to female students.

In 1908, a residential facility of 15 acres was acquired in Dartry, which was then in Co Dublin. This facility, originally housing fewer than 100 female students, has grown and developed with the changing character of the college and the island.

In 2008, Trinity Hall, a facility now for more than 1,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students of all genders, creeds, colours and nationalities, is marking its centenary.
