Done and dusted

IF the Lisbon treaty is such a good thing for all of us, why will Ireland be the only country to approve it by referendum? Why did EU leaders decide this was best not left to the EU electorate in whom sovereignty is supposed to reside, as in any true democracy?

Done and dusted

Why are the French and Dutch not being given a second chance to vote on it, as we did with the Nice treaty?

It seems EU leaders ‘know what’s best’ for us and have already made up their minds that this is the Europe we will have, whether we like it or not. It makes for an interesting form of democracy, to say the least.
