Parting swipe
It’s a pity Mr Ahern is still behaving in this fashion — in the Dáil he also had a swipe at the tribunal set up by the Oireachtas. This is now on the official record.
What example is this for the ordinary citizen, especially the young and marginalised? Slightly constitutional behaviour, perhaps.
The Larkin house affair and the hanging out to dry of Gráinne Carruth were the straws that broke the camel’s back. A pity shots are aimed at the messenger. I would remind all, Mr Cowen included, that loyalty to the State is a great virtue.
