We are paying a high price for failing our children

YOUR recent editorial about reconsidering our values after the horrible incident in a Co Galway school playground was excellent.

The disgraceful fact is that children are abused at all levels of society in Ireland today.

They are woefully abused by the very people who are supposed to be concerned about them. We hear of teenagers being prosecuted for dreadful crimes without ever a mention of parents or guardians being called to order.
