I PRESUME the drive for a united Ireland announced at Sinn Féin’s recent árd fheis means ‘by consent’ this time around.

If so, I wonder if Gerry, Martin, et al, realise that the dynamics of achieving consensual unity are much the same as for consensual sex.

If the other party says ‘no’ and you continue to bang on about it, the other party gets progressively more irritated, annoyed and angry.
