Fifty years later, salmon smolts still can’t find the dam ‘door’

I WAS instantly drawn to the headline ‘Natural salmon habitat to be established in upper River Lee’ (February 11).

The report stated that salmon runs declined rapidly on the river following the construction of two ESB stations at Carrigadrohid and Inniscarra 50 years ago.

This is definitely true and well documented.
