Evolution theory of heads or hearts?
His epistle against evolution also reminds me of the US comedian Stephen Colbert’s word of the day during his debut show, Thruthiness.
In describing ‘thruthiness’, Colbert said: “I don’t trust books. They’re all fact, no heart. And that’s exactly what’s pulling our country apart today. ‘Cause face it, folks, we are a divided nation. Not between Democrats and Republicans, or conservatives and liberals. No, we are divided between those who think with their head and those who know with their heart.”
Nothing I could write sums up Mr Conway’s position better. He is free to live in his feelgood thruthiness world if he wishes. But he has no right to insist the children of the nation do the same.
However, in the unlikely event that he should ever wish to move from erroneous opinions about evolution to the facts, can I recommend www.richarddawkins.net or even closer to home, www.atheist.ie
Take the plunge, Mr Conway, the water is just fine.
