YOU quote Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern as saying in relation to the Lisbon treaty (February 6): “Our opponents — when you peel back the rebranding, remodelling, refinancing — are the same old groups, the same tired old interests retelling the same old myths.”

But isn’t this Lisbon treaty referendum essentially “rebranded and remodelled” after being previously turned down?

Aren’t the majority parties beating a tired old drum? Aren’t they “refinancing” their tired ideas using money belonging to taxpayers who only recently said ‘no’. Talk about recycling.
