Me a misogynist? I think Condoleezza is great

I REGARD it as a foul calumny on the part of Anthony Leavy (Letters, February 4) to brand me as some kind of misognyst for questioning the campaign/policies of Mrs Bill Clinton and her liberal/feminist acolytes.

Me a misogynist? I think Condoleezza is great

Contrary to his accusation, some of my best friends are ‘wimmin’ and I have the greatest respect for many female politicians. In fact, the politician I most admire is US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, possibly the most impressive US public figure to have emerged since the late, great Ronald Reagan. As if further proof were needed of my bona fides in this regard, only this Christmas I bought the present Mrs Conway a copy of the world’s shortest book, The Wit & Wisdom of Germaine Greer. Mrs C is nodding in agreement as she cuts my medium-to-well-done steak into soldiers for yours truly.

I rest my case.
