Marina project is vast relative to size of village
The recent public presentation to which you referred unfortunately lacked specific detail in regard to scale and elevation.
As the proposed site at Sea Road is at the lowest point in the village, it is reasonable to assume that the landfill of approximately four acres will be elevated above the level of the road to create a sea wall.
Also, at an estimated 12 acres overall, the scale of the project is vast relative to the backdrop and needs of a small village. While profit may be a primary underlying motive in this venture, it is vital that the interests of the community as a whole are respected and reflected in the process of planning and granting of foreshore licences.
As holidaymakers and householders in Courtmacsherry for almost 20 years, we await the full planning application with interest.
