Job for the joker

WHILE the martyr regrets he has only one life to give for his country, the old joke says the politician regrets he has only one country to sell.

This latter was a far-fetched joke till the post of EU president was invented. Bearing it in mind, shouldn’t commentators be more careful about the names they bandy about for this position?
