Turn of events

I CONGRATULATE you on nailing your colours to the flag on the issue of the race for the Democratic nomination (January 9).

Perhaps, on more mature reflection, a less forthright opinion piece from Stephen Collinson might have been advisable.

I do enjoy the coverage given to news items in your paper, and the headline ‘Obama victory big blow to Clinton’ brought a warm smile to my face on a frosty morning in Dublin. Unfortunately, the predictable ‘it’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings’ might be a less than appropriate riposte for a subsequent apology. Keep up the good work, but do give Mr Collinson a longer deadline in future
