A lovely man constantly in pursuit of the divine
It is hugely supportive and readable, like all his work. I was very shocked, mid-chapter, to hear of his untimely death.
Some years ago I heard him address the Céifin conference on work/life balance in Ennis.
While in full flight, he was interrupted by an announcement that a car was blocking the emergency exit. I saw him cop the number, admit ownership, scold himself, curse humorously, search for the keys and continue his speech within seconds. He was a lovely, alert man who spent his life addressing the divine. He will be missed.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
