Let’s have all the facts about flu vaccine

RECENTLY you reported the drive to get people, particularly those over 65, to have the flu vaccine.

Is this the same flu vaccine that researchers at the National Institute of Health at Bethesda in Maryland concluded had not resulted in fewer deaths? (The Lancet, October 2007)

Is it the same vaccine referred to by researcher Ira Longini (Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia) who maintains “it is clear that increasing vaccination of the elderly has not resulted in a decrease in pneumonia and influenza mortality in that age group”?

Is this the same vaccine that is preserved with a mercury product (thimerosol)?

Mercury toxicity has been linked to more rapid progression of Alzheimer’s disease in the elderly?

If people are advised to have the vaccine, at least the full facts should be given to them so they can make up their own minds about it.
