I hope that many people read it and decided against trying this luxury ‘cruelty food’ over the recent festive season or at any other time.

The practice of force-feeding ducks and geese is indefensible, but it seems that, as your excellent editorial (December 29) put it — “Our conscience has not yet overcome our appetites.”
