Bush policies to blame for turmoil in Pakistan

THE assassination of Benazir Bhutto and the ongoing turmoil in Pakistan is a direct result of Bush administration policies that foster “democracy” regardless of the consequences.

I’m for democracy, but Bush keeps forgetting the one ingredient that is required to make it work — diplomacy. That is why the current violence is yet another disastrous consequence of backing his man, Musharraf, who is about as reliable as a groundhog predicting how long winter will be with us.
