Don’t bank on it

So National Irish Bank wants us to move to more efficient payments, including direct debits?

Don’t bank on it

Having had to contact my bank (coincidentally, NIB) twice in as many months to reject two separate direct debits that were wrongly taken by two different service providers, I wonder just who are direct debits more efficient for?

In each case, I was only able to have the debit reversed because I spotted the error on the day it was taken. I was given the impression that if I hadn’t requested a reversal on the same day, it could not have been done.
