Targeting 1.6-litre engines is unfair to families
When selecting a family car legally to accommodate two adults and four children, the smallest possible engine size we could find was 1.6. So we bought a 1.6 Opel Zafira, which we always use when travelling as a family.
The alternative would be for the six of us to travel everywhere in two cars, using more fuel and being less environmentally friendly. It seems a bit unfair, therefore, that families in our position should be penalised for having a 1.6 engine when that is the smallest engine size that is available to accommodate our family. I trust the Government will take note and make provision for families in such circumstances.
