LIKE, I hope, many lawyers in Ireland, I have watched and read the news from Pakistan with utter shock.

The imprisoning of the country’s chief justice has, quite rightly, brought many lawyers onto the streets in protest and to seek his reinstatement. I fully support their efforts.

The lack of response from the Bar Council and Law Society is to be deeply regretted.
