‘Clinical’ killings are heinous crimes
Far from being “clinical” many of the murders have been stupid acts carried out in a ham-fisted and brutal manner, costing the lives of their erstwhile friends as well as innocent bystanders.
The reality is that many of these gang members are poorly educated and not very intelligent. ‘General’ Martin Cahill had also given undue celebrity status by the media.
At international level we see a similar abuse of language. Murderous attacks that kill dozens of innocent civilians in places such as Baghdad, Basra and Belgrade are described as ‘surgical strikes’ carried out with ‘precision’ using intelligent guided weapons.
We should ask victims such as Ali Abbas how they and their families would describe these crimes against humanity.
The present war in Afghanistan is being fuelled by drugs on both sides, just at the violence in Dublin is drug-fuelled. The international and local thugs include generals in Burma and Baghdad as well as so-called generals in Dublin. Neocon leaders in plush Pentagon offices are backed up by mercenary contract killers, some of whom are Irish. Some of their actions on the streets of Baghdad are comparable with the Dublin gangland murders.
The CIA uses torture methods previously used by the Gestapo, the KGB and the Inquisition. ‘Chemical Ali’, Pol Pot and other mass murderers were covertly and overtly supported by Western Governments during and after their heinous crimes.
The drug gang murderers in Dublin are supported by drug users in poor housing estates and expensive nightclubs.
It is time to stop glorifying local and international thugs. Unlawful killing is murder, and those responsible are murderers, not clinicians or Rambo-style heroes to be admired.
The rule of law must be restored and respected, nationally and internationally.
