Priest’s journey

THE life of the controversial Dublin priest Michael Cleary was graphically depicted in an RTÉ television documentary recently.

He was best described by his friend Fr Brian D’Arcy in his autobiography, A Different Journey, where he quoted the French existentialist philospher Teilhard de Chardin: “We are not human beings on a spiritual journey; we are spiritual beings on a human journey.”
