Humans being turned into a commodity

I WAS horrified by the news that scientists have been given the go-ahead to create part human, part animal embryos that will be destroyed after a short period.

However, those of us opposed to embryonic stem cell research had been expecting a day like this.

Human beings are now becoming another commodity. These immoral scientists and politicians are creating a sliding scale of humanity whose upper and lower limits will be set and reset by whim and expedience.

So all the slavery abolitionists’ work and those who fought the Nazis’ murderous ideology will have laboured in vain.

And of course the so-called medical benefits of such research will only be available to those who can afford the expensive treatments anyway. You don’t think all that R&D will come cheap?

This is not about helping people, but about helping companies and their shareholders to make a lot of money.

It’s disgusting.
