Work not always a solution to poverty

ONE wonders whether the author of your editorial ‘Work is the best escape from poverty’ (September 5) has actually done any research on the working poor?

In other words, those who have maintain regular employment but remain in relative poverty due to low pay levels and exploitation by unscrupulous employers.
