Marks of absurdity

THE focus in the news is on the NRA’s motorway-building, but what about the absurd ‘N’ roads?

These are wide enough to be dual carriageways, but all the space is taken up with areas painted to prevent overtaking. The result: long queues of cars, all doing 100km/h, unable to pass anyone — or slow down.
