Parrot fleeing captivity or global warming?

A YELLOW parrot flew through my garden in Charleville, Co Cork, the other evening.

Is this likely to be an escapee or has global warming reached a stage where birds from southern climes are now visiting us? Your correspondents Donal Hickey or Damien Enright might have an opinion on this.
