Horse industry needs to put focus on welfare

IRELAND is widely regarded as the home of the horse which plays a significant role in the social and economic life of the country.

Its contribution will be enhanced as levels of awareness of the many benefits to be derived from equine-assisted therapy are raised.

Consequently, it is vitally important that the welfare of the horse is demonstrated through image and practice in Ireland.
