Customers should play airline at its own game

AS a once-proud Aer Lingus ‘gold circle’ traveller I was angered by the airline’s decision to withdraw a very busy, profitable service from Shannon.

Customers should play airline at its own game

The decision demonstrates an extreme lack of loyalty to regular customers. It is one more step on the road from a customer-focused business strategy to a short-term, cost-focused business model. If the airline wishes to throw away its hard-earned customer goodwill, then so be it.

I would encourage all Aer Lingus’s frequent customers to take the same approach to customer loyalty and choose a rival airline at every available opportunity and on every available route from all airports.
