Good Samaritan

I WISH to thank one woman for a memorable kindness to me on Tuesday last week on my first visit to Cork.

Good Samaritan

Delivering a precious dossier to an adoption agency — the end of a very long journey and the beginning of a new one — I had never been to Cork before and had to get directions to Forge Hill.

The driver of the bus I was on forgot to tell me where to get off and I was left stranded near the Wilton shopping centre in torrential rain.

I asked a woman where I might catch a taxi and she told me to follow her. She was carrying shopping and was as wet as I was at this stage. She walked back to her house, got her keys and took me around the area, looking for Forge Hill.

I don’t know her name but I thank her sincerely for her unselfish kindness.
