IN her letter (July 14), Jackie O’Sullivan rightly complains about cars parked on footpaths and dangers to pedestrians, including parents with kids in buggies.

She refers to Co Limerick, but motorists in Dublin suburbs are also guilty. Dun Laoghaire County Council seems to ignore pedestrians’ rights. During the general election campaign, councillors seeking Dáil seats favoured the motorists’ lobby. Extra facilities for pedestrians, including proper crossings, were promised but not delivered.
