Fishy story of nuclear waste dumped at sea

WITH regard to the recent discovery of abundant fish life and cold water coral 300 miles south of Cork, is it possible that they thrive in spite of, or because of, the presence there or thereabouts of nuclear waste which was dumped encased in barrels of concrete almost 40 years ago?

This waste was from the British nuclear industry and it was dumped there despite great clamour by our government and others at the time. It is a pity that samples of the fish life were not recovered for testing for radioactivity.

Has everyone, so concerned at the time of the dumping, conveniently forgotten about it, or is it a case of letting sleeping dogs lie?
