Apartment blocks do nothing for the area

A FEW years ago, Cork City Council compulsorily acquired Cogan’s small farm on the Boreenmanna Road for what they then said was the building of social and private housing.

That project is now nearing completion, but what a disaster it is for the people already living in the vicinity of it.

A featureless, red-bricked, rectangular apartment block has been erected practically on the roadside with another large block behind it.
