Can defaulters expect similar leniency?

I WONDER if Beverly Flynn had won her libel action against RTÉ, would she have been as forgiving as the national broadcaster?

Would she have been as easygoing with her own money as RTÉ is with that of licence-payers?

Would RTÉ management have agreed to such generosity if it was their own money? Can other people expect similar leniency when it comes to paying — or not paying — the TV licence? Somehow I doubt it.
