Docklands plan aims to transform city amenities

THE recently-published local area plan for the South Docklands is without question the most radical proposal for Cork city in living memory.

If implemented, the plan will see the area from the marina to the city quays transformed beyond all recognition and create several new focal points in the city.

While much of the media focus has been on the proposed tall buildings and business parks, the plan’s emphasis on quality of life issues also needs to be emphasised.
