Healy-Rae needs to keep his potholes promise

SO Jackie Healy-Rae has promised the new Ceann Comhairle, John O’Donoghue, that he will look after the potholes around Waterville and Caherciveen.

May I suggest that he start immediately, having travelled the Ring of Kerry last Sunday week.

It is in a very dangerous condition in many areas, particularly between Sneem and Parknasilla.

There seems to be one law for the private citizen in this country to keep vehicles up to EU compulsory testing standards and a different law for the bureaucrats who impose those standards on us because public roads are a reflection of the parish-pump politics that thrive in this country.
