Money was allocated to the wrong road

Now that the inevitable major archaeological site has been unearthed at Lismullin in the Tara-Skryne valley, it is time the NRA/Department of the Environment re-examined the viability of the new road from Dublin-to-Navan.

Money was allocated to the wrong road

This is one of the inter-urban roads in the greater Dublin area for which the money committed for the Farranfore-to-Lissivigeen (Killarney) outer relief road was scandalously withdrawn. That much-needed relief road was scheduled for completion in 2009, but it is now postponed indefinitely.

The Government should reinstate the money originally committed to the Farranfore-to-Lissivigeen road so that it can be completed as closely as possible to its original schedule.
