Nuclear energy the most malignant of all
It is not only Greenpeace which is are active in opposing this most malignant of all forms of energy production.
There are hundreds if not thousands of other organisations, representing untold millions of people, that oppose it, not least the International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE), which represents 100,000 medical doctors in 40 countries and the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), Nobel Peace Prize winners, representing many more thousands of doctors.
There are extremely cogent and sound health, social, scientific and economic reasons for turning our back on nuclear energy as an option for the future production of electricity.
And this is applicable not just in Ireland but globally.
For details of ISDE’s declaration on nuclear energy, in which it calls for environmentally benign solutions to the impending energy crisis — the technology is already available — in order to enhance global security and prevent war, log on to www.isde.org or the Irish Doctors Environmental Association at www.ideaireland.org.
