Small wonder many young people are apathetic
Bertie’s strategy worked.
By having the poll on a Thursday and preventing students (and probably thousands of disabled people and commuters) from voting, he has stopped change.
It amazes me that such a large block of voters was not able to exercise its basic constitutional right.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, many people who went to vote found their names had been taken off the register or they hadn’t received a polling card.
Politicians often accuse students and young people of being apathetic. Now they know why.
