Farmer greed alienates urban workers

JAMES KIRWAN (Farming, May 17) advocates that “payment should be provided to the farmer over and above the single payment to allow him to pay firstly the consultants to take care of his paper work, and secondly to compensate him for his own time and labour in collecting and keeping information.”

What a wonderful idea. I hope they get away with it.

Then I’ll ask my boss to pay for the time I spend commuting, ironing my shirt and the time it takes me to stay abreast of my professional responsibilities.
